Covid 19 Check-In Process

  1. Before you arrive

There are 2 flights of stairs. Bloodroot Tattoo is located on the 3rd floor of the historic Pine Street building. Unfortunately, there is no elevator. If stairs don’t work for you, let your tattoo artist know, and they will schedule your appointment in a more accessible location.

Take the Covid 19 survey your tattoo artist emailed to you. If you aren’t feeling well, please reschedule your appointment. We are currently requiring all clients to be vaccinated and show proof of vaccination at your appointment.

If you plan to park, arrive early. The spots in the small lot fill quickly, and street parking nearby is limited to 2 hours. You may need to park a few blocks away from the shop and walk there. Try to avoid parking if you can, for example: being dropped off, biking/walking, or taking public transportation. If you do park, don’t leave any valuables, bags or visible items in your car (a good rule of thumb everywhere in Portland).

2. When you arrive

Call the phone number your tattoo artist gave you beforehand by email. The artist will come down to meet you.

You must be wearing a mask The shop has extra KN95 masks that we are happy to provide. If you don’t have a mask with you, let the artist know when you call, and they will bring one down so you can come inside wearing one.

3. Put away your things, and take off your street shoes

Hang up your coat and store any items you brought in with you. Street shoes are not allowed inside the tattoo shop. You can wear inside shoes (if you bring them), slippers, or socks during your appointment. The shop provides grip socks and/or slippers if you’d like to use them.

4. Wash your hands

Bloodroot Tattoo has a dedicated hand washing sink, and another sink for washing hands in the bathroom. Please wash your hands as needed throughout your appointment, especially after blowing your nose, using the bathroom, touching frequently touched surfaces, etc. There are also medical grade hand wipes at each tattoo station for your use, but the foot-operated, touch-free hand washing sink is best.

5. Do your paperwork

Your tattoo artist will bring you a waiver to sign and scan your ID. Please ask any questions that you have during this time. After the paperwork is completed, you’ll get started with your tattoo.

6. Wear your mask

Despite changing mask guidelines in Oregon, you must still wear a mask at Bloodroot Tattoo. Please let your tattoo artist know if you need a break to drink or eat a snack, and they can give you time and space for that.
